Tonight fish are food, not friends. Sorry Charlie!

As Bruce from Finding Nemo cries after getting a whiff of Dory’s bloody nose…I’m havin’ FISH for dinner!

Drove to Sushi Monster down the street on Ralston…driven by many times, never been in. Oh man. I was missing out! Well, no more. I am now graduated onto cooked fish…and Unagi counts. Mmmmm. It was so very very good. I ordered it over rice so I got about 8 nigiri pieces worth of Unagi over rice and I didn’t have to blend a single thing!

I did realise that even though Dr. Li said I could start using my teeth a little…neither one of us was taking into account that none of my teeth actually touch. And since I cannot (ow ow ow ow) move my jaw anyway but directly up or down, there’s absolutely no wiggle room on that. So I have 2.25 teeth I can use to munchy and crunchy. They are the tooth to the left (my left) of my front teeth and the corresponding tooth on the bottom. The .25 is the eye tooth on the top that gets a tiny bit of action. So I learned a little trick.

I put my baby spoon (have I mentioned how I do love the baby spoon?) in my mouth (it has a soft rubber-like covering) under my top teeth, and squish my food between it and my bottom teeth. Baby spoon/teeth. Very nice! And all for only $6.99 for 4 different colors! I know you’re jealous.

I am a superstar rockstar booYa mama rockin the temperature sensitive hypercolor baby spoonage. Yeah boy!!!!

Congratulations on the sushi. I know it was a proud moment for you. I love the stuff.

Questions for you: why don’t your teeth touch? Is this how they line up after surgery or from jaw stiffness from being banded? Just curious.

My teeth don’t touch because of how much the doctor had to move them to get my airway doubled. The bite guard thing gaps that space so I don’t hurt myself clenching on nothing (thereby stressing out my ligaments). He didn’t move my teeth forward so much as he rotated the top teeth up and moved them forward only slightly, and rotated my bottom jaw forward even more than the top and slightly forward. This was to avoid the monkey look, and I sooo appreciate his eye… I think you mentioned this in your blog about getting braces first, then getting the surgery, and following up with continuing orthodontia. Right?

Even if more than two teeth touched, I don’t think I would be chewing much since the roots of my teeth and all things surrounding them are extremely “nervy” right now. Though I was thinking today maybe I would get one of those clear squishy chewy ring things that babies get when they are teething…I couldn’t freeze or fridge it before chewing since my teeth are extremely cold sensitive, but my teeth like a little resistance. Instead I kind of chew on the end of my plastic spoons. You do what you have to. But man…unagi…I was in heaven! Thanks for the congrats!

You have the braces, surgery, braces routine right. It is going to be a long, drawn out process. Interesting about the teeth not touching. I will be interested in seeing just how they manage to get everything lined back up after surgery. There will be room behind my teeth to fit a bridle (insert whinney noise here). I know there is a plan to make it all work, it just seems a little humpty-dumpty.

By the way, did you read all of the entries to my blog. When I checked the other day I realized that only the most recent 10 show up and the rest were in archives, which I couldn’t access. I have changed my settings so hopefully everything shows up. The first entry has my picture in it. That first blog gives my background up to starting the MMA process.

I am enjoying reading your blog. The progression is interesting to read about. I am glad that you are able to keep up a sense of humor – this tells me that you are doing okay. I hope you comtinue to do well.

    Ciao,

    Anne
